Stainless Steel Dished Heads and Pipes
Dished, Flanged, Torispherical, Hemispherical, Elliptical; Round, Square or Rectangular section pipes .
All made exclusively and strictly of stainless steel to guarantee no contamination. Customised finishing, designed for industrial and large-scale construction applications.
Stainless Steel Dished Heads are pressure vessel components used to cap the ends of cylindrical vessels, providing both containment and strength. They are commonly found in industries like chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and energy. 🔹 What Are Dished Heads? A dished head is a concave, dome-shaped end piece formed to fit the end of a vessel. It's designed to handle internal or external pressure and is typically welded to the vessel shell. 🔧 Types of Stainless Steel Dished Heads 1. Torispherical Heads (also called Flanged and Dished Heads) Design: A large crown radius with a small knuckle radius at the edge. Use: Common in low to moderate pressure applications. Advantages: Economical to fabricate, good strength. 2. Ellipsoidal Heads (2:1 Elliptical Head) Design: The depth of the head is one-quarter of the vessel diameter (i.e., 2:1 major to minor axis ratio). Use: Preferred in ASME pressure vessels. Advantages: More pressure-resistant than torispherical heads for the same thickness. 3. Hemispherical Heads Design: Half of a perfect sphere. Use: High-pressure applications. Advantages: Best pressure distribution; strongest of all head types. Disadvantages: More expensive and deeper, requiring more space and material. 4. Flat Heads Design: Flat plate welded onto the shell. Use: For low-pressure or atmospheric tanks. Disadvantages: Not suited for pressure vessels due to weak stress distribution. 🧪 Material: Stainless Steel Common Grades: 304 / 304L: General-purpose stainless steel, good corrosion resistance. 316 / 316L: Improved corrosion resistance, especially in chloride or acidic environments. 310 / 321: High-temperature or heat-resistant applications. Key Properties: High corrosion resistance Good weldability Maintains strength at high temperatures Aesthetic surface finish (important in food & pharma)
